NW COACHES ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP TEAM
(Portland, Oregon) The NW Coaches Association (NWCA) announced its new leadership team for the 2009 year, including several officers and board members. The new board and leadership team is made up of nearly a dozen members.
Feroshia Knight, MA, CPC, assumes the leadership position of president after serving as Vice President for 2008 and programs co-chair for two-years. Newly elected Vice President Joey Lyons served as Programs Co-Chair on the leadership team for the past year. Newly elected to the board is Caitlin Williams as Secretary and Jennifer Powers returns for her third term as Treasurer.
The leadership team also includes newly selected Program Co-Chairs, Pat Martinez, Susan Schwarz and Membership Co-Chairs Kym Cumbo and Soren Sorenson. Grace Francis, has joined as the Marketing Director and Dave Goshorn as the Outreach Director. Past presidents Bob Renggli round out the leadership team.
Feroshia Knight has chosen the theme of "Tools, Technology & Triumphs to guide her presidency in 2009. Feroshia said, "It's time to step up the art and science of coaching, honoring those who are doing what it takes to thrive while learning how to leverage technology in promotion of our profession." She promises this to be a year of meaningful interactions and the place to learn about coaching with the thought-leaders in our community!
Feroshia has been a member of NWCA since December 2004 is also a co-founder of Baraka Institute: Leadership Development & Coach Training Center.
The NW Coaches Association, known at one time as the Portland Coaches Association, is a signatory chapter of the International Coach Federation. It is dedicated to creating awareness of the coaching profession, supporting the professional development of it's members and cultivating a community of professional coaches.
The association meets the second Tuesday of every month starting with a free pre-meeting workshop from 5:45-6:45 p.m., networking at 6:45-7:15 p.m. and the main program from 7:15-8:30 p.m. Meeting location is at the Scottish Rite Center, 709 SW 15th Avenue, Portland OR 97205, 503-226-7827. Parking is available.
