MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wagers 2 We Must Be Doing Something Right
My grandmother used to say, "the proof is in the pudding." While I enjoy cooking (I find it very creative), I'm not really talking about food in that sense.
We set out this year with a goal to bring exciting speakers and interactive, informative/educational programs to our monthly meetings. Our goal was to generate more involvement from our members and guests each month. We have tried to create a feeling or sense of "community," and if the attendance and excitement I feel personally and also from watching others each month at the meeting is a good measure, then we must be on the right track.
We have been fortunate to add several new members and welcome several guests at each meeting. We are now at a record 114 members! Yes you read that correctly. Each meeting is designed to offer benefit to seasoned as well as new coaches, and I want to publicly offer my thanks to Feroshia and Colleen for putting together the programs each month. If you have a relevant topic or know a great presenter/speaker, let one of them know.
May is here and the weather is getting better, so come out and join us on May 8th.
Best regards,
Dave Wagers
NWCA 2007 President
MEETING DETAILS
PRE-MEETING WORKSHOP (5:45 p.m.)
Monique Breault will facilitate Abundance Taken For Granted, an outstanding free learning experience for coaches and would-be coaches on Peer Coaching. If you have a challenge in your work, a client situation that is bugging you or anything for which coaching might help, Peer Coaching can supply you with new perspectives and just maybe, a breakthrough for you. As you've no doubt heard, a key to being a great coach is that you must be coachable and an on-going receiver of coaching. This Peer Coaching evening comprised of hands-on learning opportunities directly applicable to your own life/business will do just that for you and most certainly provide a very exciting evening you won't want to miss.
MAIN PROGRAM (7:15 p.m.)
Guest Speaker: Steven Fulmer
Topic: Success Secrets and Mysteries
Description: Steven Fulmer, Human Strategist and creator of LifeQuest Mapping, a dynamic exploration of life, purpose and direction, member of our own NWCA and co-author of a new book titled "Speaking of Success" alongside Jack Canfield, Stephen Covey and Ken Blanchard will be speaking with us about how he secured this book deal as well as his take on Success. Having built his life, business and coaching practice around the personal philosophy of Dream, Believe, Become, Steven says that "Dreams are powerful, but dreams are to life what headlights are to cars; they don't tell you where to go, they only show you what is possible. The secret to becoming lies in what you believe."
Success, as a word, dates back to the 1530's, but years before Socrates said, "If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you always got." Is it possible, therefore, that this incessant focus on success is the very thing standing in the way of "success?" What if the very premise of success was challenged? In this presentation we will discuss:
  • Core success vs. Contextual success
  • 3 key obstacles to "success"
  • The broken clock deception
  • Treasure maps vs. Road maps
Programs 2008 - RFP (Request for Presenters!)
