~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NW Coaches Association Newsletter March 2006 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In this Issue: --MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT --MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT --NWCA MEMBERSHIP CONNECTIONS --NWCA PROGRAMS: MARCH 2006 --REMEMBER NWCA NEW LOCATION --RETAIN YOUR WEB PROFILE --FOR MORE INFORMATION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear friends and fellow coaches, Over the past few weeks I have had the pleasure of speaking to many coaches, both inside and outside our organization, and what has become crystal clear to me is that many of them have no idea of the value of our monthly meetings at the NWCA.
That started me thinking: If some of our members and supporters are unaware of the many advantages to membership in the NWCA, especially in our monthly meetings, then we've got a little bit of a communication problem.
This monthly newsletter was created to keep our members and friends updated about the NWCA, and by golly, that's exactly what we think we're doing. But if we're not giving you the information you need, please do let us know!
One piece of information that I think is vitally important for you to know is the format of our monthly meetings. Before our meetings even start, we offer a practice-building workshop from 5:30-6:30 p.m. There is no admission charge for the pre- meeting workshop, and if you're a newer coach, or just looking for tips to build your practice, you'll want to plan to attend these all year long.
The main meeting starts 7, after informal networking from 6:30-7 p.m. We introduce the NWCA leadership team, make announcements, and then invite everyone at the meeting to introduce themselves to the group. By 7:30, we're ready for our main speaker, who presents information of interest to working coaches, often on new coaching models and tools.
At 8:30, we have open discussion for the last half hour. We first tried this in November, and it went so well that we decided to do it again on a regular basis, and this month we're getting it back on the agenda.
You're invited to join us on the second Tuesday of every month this year to meet and mingle with your fellow coaches, make contacts, and learn something that may help your practice. Hope to see YOU there this month!
Warmly, Ronnie Veronika Noize NWCA 2006 President 360-882-1298 ronnie@veronikanoize.com
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I know our last meeting fell on Valentine's Day, but I must say if you were not able to attend you missed a great experience. Our attendance was normal and those attending were able to welcome several new members.
If you came early, Karl Heckman at the pre-meeting gave some wonderful insights to increase your business. His practical and useful tips on "The ORDER Interview Guide" were "right on". Wouldn't all of us like to increase our knowledge about how to ask for and gain more new clients. I have a lot of experience and a very successful practice but the next day was able to use one tip I picked up from Karl's presentation to get my client past an emotional hurdle.
The main meeting presentation by Stacey Lane and Nancy Grant was equally interesting (even if you are a man) about the challenges women face in acheiving higher income. Titled - Overcoming Underearning and steps to becoming a high earner. What do six-figure women know that you don't? The presentation was based on the work of best selling author Barbara Stanny and these questions were answered. Make you plans now to attend the March meeting.
Best regards,
Dave Wagers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NWCA MEMBERSHIP CONNECTIONS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want, and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind (and coaches) achieve the second." Logan Pearsall Smith.
Sometimes we feel the Membership Team is still struggling to "enjoy" a smooth registration experience, and that "registration wisdom" has eluded us. At our Valentine's Day meeting, we are so grateful for the "step-in-and help" contribution of Carolyn Newman at the computer for registration and Christine Smith at the reg table. To the new members, we extend a particular thanks for your patience and understanding. Christine and I think we definitely could use one more full time Membership Team Volunteer. It's a fun opportunity to meet the entire membership and make those personal connections that sooner or later pay enormous dividends in our coaching profession. Really, it's not a job, it's an investment!
As our coaching profession moves from TREND TO NEW DISCIPLINE, please consider making the commitment this year to personally attend a few more monthly meetings and thereby re-connect with the roots of our local identity as coaches: NWCA. We need your insights and experience. New coaches need to feel and experience your confidence and your story, which at one time, you inherited some other coach, in getting your career off to a solid start. Perhaps you even made some mistakes that you would care to share. Just think for a moment of the many many people and organizations out there who could use new energy, new productivity, new enjoyment if only they had a little more help in reconfiguring the scrabble pieces of their lives. What a gift to give and to receive! So please make a difference! Come join us March 14th. And yes, come early for the intimate pre-session at 5:30 and get connected.
If any of the membership has a wish, a suggestion or a wise thought to share and we on the Membership Team could help, please email us:

Christine Smith: design-creations@verizon.net
Most sincerely,
